What Inspires Me? Various things drives me to create my artwork. Artist John Beckley’s videos help me formulate ideas and techniques to use in my artwork. In addition, the lack of abstract art at Downingtown East inspires me to stand out for the crowd and hope to pass my style of work to the underclassmen at Downingtown. Also, music helps me relax and empty my mind, allowing me to focus on my art and how I could lay it out. Also, reading lets my imagination explore different views for my artwork. My Concentration Concept: My concentration focuses on the combination of abstract art and space. I want my viewer to experience my artwork in various ways. I want my audience to see space as a part of nature and recognize its beauty. The universe is often conceived as something to be feared and hard to understand. Many place negative cogitations with space because it places the human race in a smaller perspective and realize that we may never fully experience the wonders of space. The idea of the universe’s vastness can create an existentialist feeling. However, I would want my audience to see the wonder and beauty space can create. I hope that my audience will not experience those feelings when viewing my art. I want them to see the beauty of space as it a part of nature. Technique: I utilized acrylic inks and paints for my concentration, but I mainly use inks. The inks are liquid which can make a more organic shape. This allows my artwork to take a more naturalistic perspective. The inks also help blend the colors better than using a brush. I also use paper towels to create a texture and add depth to the piece. I specifically choose the colors in my pieces to ensure the colors work together. Thank you for visiting my page! |
